The president didn't seem to like what was on TV on Sunday night.
President Donald Trump railed against George Clooney on Sunday night after the actor/filmmaker and longtime Democratic donor appeared on “60 Minutes.”
“Why would the now highly discredited 60 Minutes be doing a total ‘puff piece’ on George Clooney, a second rate movie ‘star,’ and failed political pundit,” Trump wrote. “He fought hard for Sleepy Joe’s election and then, right after the Debate, dumped him like a dog.”
Clooney wrote an op-ed in July of last year urging then-President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race, one of a number of prominent figures calling on him to quit after a poor debate performance against Trump.
Biden initially dismissed it as a “bad night,” but Clooney said his own dealings with the president at another event were similar.
“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010,” Clooney wrote in the New York Times. “He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”
