
TPCC chief promises priority to BC leaders in next cabinet expansion

TPCC president prioritizes BC leaders in Cabinet expansion, criticizes BJP and BRS for insincerity in uplifting BC communities.
TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud asserted that leaders from the Backward Classes (BC) will get priority in the next Cabinet expansion in the State, highlighting the Congress’s commitment to uplifting the BC community. He alleged that the BJP and BRS are insincere in their efforts to uplift BC communities.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Mr. Mahesh Kumar said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will remain in office for the full five-year term, adding that the Congress will definitely make a BC candidate the Chief Minister in Telangana.
Recalling the State government’s plans to introduce legislation for 42% reservations for BC candidates in local body polls, Mr. Mahesh Kumar demanded that BJP Karimnagar MP and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar ensure the Union government led by his party amends the 9th schedule to provide these reservations. He also announced plans to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to make the necessary constitutional amendments in this regard.
The Congress senior leader also challenged Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar to demand a caste census from the Union government. He criticised the BRS, stating that the party has no moral right to speak about BC issues. Congress national OBC department chairman Ajay Singh Yadav condemned BJP leaders, including Bandi Sanjay Kumar, for their alleged comments on Rahul Gandhi’s caste and religion. He accused the BJP of trying to portray the Congress as a Muslim party.
