Tamil Nadu’s fiscal position is in an “unsustainable” situation and the State’s revenue deficit situation since 2013-14 “has become truly alarming”, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, said. The Finance Minister said profound structural reforms were required and a business as usual approach cannot continue. The Finance Minister released a White Paper on Tamil Nadu Government’s Finances to enable elected members to the Assembly and the citizens of the State to understand the true picture of the State’s financial position. The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
