Tiruppur Collector felicitates 115 government staff for meritorious service

Tiruppur District Collector hoists flag, distributes assistance, and emphasizes public health during Republic Day celebrations.
Tiruppur District Collector T. Christuraj hoisted the national flag and handed over ₹1.68 crore in assistance under various government schemes to 106 beneficiaries on Sunday during the Republic Day celebrations at the Chikkanna Government Arts College.
The Collector inspected the Guard of Honour presented by police personnel, honoured freedom fighters and heirs, and felicitated 115 employees of government departments in recognition of excellence in service.
Various cultural performances extolling partriotism were presented by about 900 school students.
Commissioner of Police Tiruppur City S. Rajendran, Superintendent of Police Yadav Girish Ashok, and District Revenue Officer K. Karthikeyan, participated.
Later in the day, the Collector participated as a special observer in the Grama Sabha meeting at Reddipalayam Panchayat in Uthukuli block.
The discussion centred around developmental works and public hygiene to prevent spread of dengue and other ailments.
The necessity to increase the number of self-help groups under the Mahalir Thittam Department was underscored.
