YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy criticizes NDA Government for failing to fulfill promises, urges protests against injustices.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said on December 4, 2024 (Wednesday) that people were antagonised by the NDA Government in the State in just six months of its formation as the promises made by the TDP-JSP- BJP alliance at the time of elections were set aside, and they were passing time by telling lies to the gullible public.
The government institutions were undermined by the ruling coalition, and the agriculture sector, which was the backbone of the State’s economy, was in a deep crisis as the farmers were deprived of the minimum support price for their crops.
On the other hand, anti-people decisions like increasing the power tariffs were taken, and those criticising the government were being persecuted, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged, while saying that “the time has come a bit earlier than expected to take up cudgels on behalf of the people.”
Addressing party leaders from the constituencies and party coordinators, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon them to fight against the government’s “failures and inefficiency” with three items on the agenda, namely hike in power tariffs, problems faced by the farmers, and travails of students for whom fee reimbursement remained a mirage.
He said the YSRCP cadres should stage protests at all Collectorates on December 11 against the crisis in which farmers were stuck, and at offices of CMDs of DISCOMs and Superintending Engineers on December 27 demanding rollback of increased power tariffs.
Similarly, protests should be organised at the Collectorates on January 3 against the government’s “failure” to implement the fee reimbursement scheme, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, adding that he would tour the State after Sankranti.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
