Time And Tide showcases his class in the Sprinters Cup again

Time waits for no one and you just can’t stem the tide. The aptly-named Time And Tide, a dark bay son of Dali out of Starlet, proved that age-old saying beyond any doubt when he strolled away with the Zavaray S. Poonawalla Sprinters Cup for his second successive victory in this premier Grade 1 event.

Owned by Vikram Bachhawat, trained by Adhiraj Singh Jodha, and ridden to perfection by jockey Sandesh, Time And Tide had four long lengths to spare to runner-up Meropi from Kolkata, who ran her heart but found the winner in a different league.

One hour later, on a hot humid afternoon, Ramiel, a 5-year-old chestnut gelding by Win Legend out of Angelique, put paid to the myth of Truth in the Coromandel Gromor Stayers Cup. Sporting the colours of the Kolkata-based owner Joydeep Datta Gupta, the Bharath Singh-trained Ramiel gave jockey Sandesh a winning double.
