East Bengal will seek to preserve its winning momentum when it hosts Bengaluru FC at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday.
The match is significant for both the opponents, who require the points to realise their respective objectives. Bengaluru will hope for a positive result to secure the third spot, where it is currently placed with 37 points from 22 matches. On the other hand, East Bengal needs a win to preserve its hopes of breaking into the top-six and ensure its maiden qualification to the play-offs.
East Bengal is now eight with 27 points from 22 matches and needs to win its next two outings to stand a chance of finishing in the top-six.
