
Three Madras Medical College students held for possession of drugs in hostel room

Chennai police arrest medical students for drug possession at Madras Medical College hostel, supplier also arrested.
The Chennai city police have arrested three medical students of Madras Medical College for allegedly possessing drugs such as ketamine and ganja at their hostel room.
On March 10, Monday, the dean of Madras Medical College and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) filed a written complaint with the RGGGH Police Inspector. A search conducted at the hostel meant for house surgeons resulted in seizure of 149 grams of ganja and ketamine in small containers from four students who were staying there.
Following the complaint, police arrested three students. One more student went absconding. Further investigation by the police led to the arrest of Rodney Rodrigo, 26 of Little Mount who supplied the contraband to them. The arrested were sent to a court for remanding and efforts are on to trace the suspect who went absconding.
