Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan on Friday (March 7, 2025) said the three-language policy would be implemented in Tamil Nadu soon after the DMK was “unseated from power” in the 2026 Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Mr. Murugan said the signature campaign launched by the BJP in Tamil Nadu in support of the three-language policy was getting a large-scale response, particularly among the middle class, who “strive for their children to learn an additional language.”
He said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin should respond to the question raised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on why medical and engineering education in the State was not being imparted in Tamil. He also accused the Chief Minister of “dreaming and creating a fictitious narrative” about delimitation when there was no official announcement from either the Election Commission of India or the Union government.
