Thiruvananthapuram North champions at District School Arts Festival

Thiruvananthapuram North wins District School Arts Festival with Government Model Higher Secondary School for Girls leading the way.
The Thiruvananthapuram North subdistrict bagged the overall championship at the District School Arts Festival that concluded in Neyyattinkara here on Friday.
With competitions extending late into the night, the race to lift the championship trophy went down to the wire. Thiruvananthapuram North that was trailing on the leaderboard the first three days grabbed the lead on the last day of the competition on the strength of performances by students of Government Model Higher Secondary School for Girls, Pattom, in the dance events. The students fetched Thiruvananthapuram North more than 160 points, making it possible for the subdistrict to bag the championship. With tribal art forms making their debut at the arts festival for the first time this year, the students dominated in Irula dance, Malapulayattam, and Paniya dance in high school and higher secondary categories.
Last year’s champions Thiruvananthapuram South grabbed the second position, securing 869 points. Kilimanoor that was leading the points tally the first three days had to be content with third position, scoring 852 points. Attingal and Palode followed with 830 and 764 points, respectively.
Carmel Higher Secondary School, Vazhuthacaud, emerged the best school with 283 points. SK VHS, Nanniyode, Palode, secured the second spot with 229 points. KTCT EM HSS, Kaduvayil, Kilimanoor, was in third position with 207 points.
SKV HS, Nanniyode, was named the best public school and Government Model Higher Secondary School for Girls, Pattom, the best government school.
In the upper primary category, Attingal bagged the top spot with 154 points. Kilimanoor topped the high school category with 362 points, while Thiruvananthapuram North held the first position in the higher secondary school category with 399 points.
In the Sanskrit festival, Neyyattinkara and Palode tied in the upper primary category with 88 points, while Thiruvananthapuram South topped the high school category with 88 points.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
