Comedian Bowen Yang and writer-actor Rachel Sennott announced the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards on Thursday morning.
“Emilia Pérez,” the Spanish-language musical starring Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña, received 13 nominations, with Gascón making history as the first openly transgender actor nominated for an Oscar. “The Brutalist,” a war epic starring Adrien Brody, nabbed 10 nods. Those two films, along with “Conclave,” “Anora,” “A Complete Unknown, “Dune: Part Two,” “I’m Still Here,” “Nickel Boys,” “The Substance” and “Wicked” are all up for the Best Picture category.

The Oscars are scheuled to air March 2 on ABC, Hulu Live TV and other streaming services. Conan O’Brien is set to host for the first time.
