Telangana Congress suspends MLC Teenmaar Mallanna for anti-party activities, aggressive behaviour, and controversial comments.
Telangana Congress has suspended MLC Ch. Naveen, also known as Teenmaar Mallanna, from the party after serving a show cause notice to him for his anti-party activities.
The suspension comes a day after the visit of AICC in-charge of Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan. The suspension order was served by G. Chinna Reddy, chairman of the disciplinary action committee of the Telangana Congress on March 1, 2025.
His suspension was anticipated after he tore the BC caste survey report of the government and used highly objectionable words against the report and the Congress Government. Despite warnings, he continued to attack the party on various platforms.
Mr. Mallanna was elected as MLC in the by-election from Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate MLC constituency in June 2024 with the support of the Congress party. He runs a YouTube channel and has been a strong critic of former CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao when the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was in power.
Known for his controversial comments and usage of aggressive language while targeting political opponents, he recently tore up the caste survey report and also burnt the copy of it in the open. The caste survey is a prestigious project of the Congress Government fulfilling the desire of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said that no one would be spared if they cross the party lines and lacked discipline. “We have warned him of his aggressive behaviour several times and his comments are highly objectionable,” Mr. Goud said in reaction to the suspension.
In the recent MLC election, Mr. Mallanna worked against the party candidate and campaigned for an Independent candidate. He was also criticised for his abusive comments against the Reddy community at a public meeting recently.
