Teacher from Ervadi awarded honorary rank by NCC division

L. Subramanian, a Tamil teacher and a former National Cadet Corps officer from Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Ervadi in Tirunelveli district, has been awarded the rank of Honorary Lieutenant by the Ministry of Defence’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) division.

The award was presented by Commodore S. Raghav, Deputy Director General, NCC, Chennai, at Tirunelveli 9 (TN) SIG COY office. The event was presided by Col. TDR Sinha, 9 (TN) SIG COY NCC Commanding officer.
Mr. Subramanian served as an NCC officer at the school for 25 years. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Subramanian said receiving recognition from the Government of India gave him immense pride, as he was one of the five individuals selected for the honour across the country.
