TDP has always accorded priority to welfare of BCs, says Minister Savitha. Allocation of ₹39,000 crore in the Budget is proof of the NDA government’s commitment to BC welfare, she asserts.
Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare S. Savitha has asked the chairmen of BC corporations to spread awareness among the people about the government’s schemes and programmes.
Ms. Savitha was interacting with the community leaders and chairmen of several corporations who called on her at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
MLA Aravind Babu, Chairman of the Agnikula Kshatriya Welfare and Development Corporation Chilakalapudi Papa Rao and Chairman of the Gouda Corporation Venkata Gurumurthi were among those met the Minister.
Stating that the TDP had always accorded priority to the BCs, the Minister credited TDP founder-president and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for politically empowering the backward classes and weaker sections.
She criticised the previous YSRCP government for rendering the BC corporations ineffective by not allocating them funds.
On the contrary, the NDA government in the State had allocated ₹39,000 crore in the Budget for the corporations. “This is a proof of the government’s commitment to BC welfare. Chairmen of the corporations should remember that funds come along with responsibilities,” she said.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
