TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh signs agreements for accident insurance cover to party members

TDP provides accident insurance to one crore members, marking a historic milestone in party's welfare commitment.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national general secretary Nara Lokesh signed agreements with representatives of the United India Insurance Company Limited and Pragmatic Insurance Broking Services Private Limited on Thursday (January 2, 2025) for providing accident insurance coverage to one crore party members.
According to a press release, the TDP is approaching a historic milestone in its membership drive and the insurance coverage was in tune with the party’s commitment to take care of the welfare of cadres.
It was the first time in the TDP’s history that such a large-scale insurance facility was provided to its members. The party has paid ₹42 crore towards premium for the first phase of insurance coverage for 2025 calendar year.
The party would pay around ₹42 crore for the next year. Members would get ₹5 lakh accident insurance coverage. TDP has spent ₹138 crore on welfare of its members so far.
Besides, a special cell was set up at the TDP Central office to assist members who were victims of various accidents, and free education was being provided to the children of deceased members in residential schools established by NTR Trust in Hyderabad and Challapalli in Krishna district.
