
TANKER Foundation to set up free dialysis centre in Coimbatore

Tamilnad Kidney Research (TANKER) Foundation, in collaboration with Rotary Coimbatore Ikons and the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a free dialysis centre in Coimbatore. The initiative aims to provide free and subsidised dialysis treatment to economically disadvantaged kidney patients.
The MOU signing took place on Tuesday at the Coimbatore Corporation Kalaiarangam in R.S. Puram. Corporation Deputy Commissioner T. Kumaresan, City Health Officer K. Boopathi, TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee Latha Kumaraswami, Rotary Coimbatore Ikons President Karthikeyan, Rotary District Assistant Governor Rtn. Kamal Kumar, GGR Rtn. Bhoopathy, and members of Rotary Coimbatore Ikons and other Rotary clubs were present.
TANKER Foundation, a registered non-profit trust founded in 1993 by Dr. Georgi Abraham and others, focuses on providing subsidised dialysis and financial aid for kidney transplants, medication, and medical investigations. The organisation also conducts awareness and screening programmes for early detection of kidney diseases.
