
Take steps to enrol women with corporate companies to drive their employees: Sangareddy collector

Sangareddy district collector issues directions to ensure women drivers get licenses, cars on subsidised loans, and support for empowerment initiatives
Sangareddy district collector Valluru Kranthi issued directions to the Rural Development department’s district unit to ensure the 33 women who underwent training to drive four-wheelers get drivers licences from Road Transport Authority. Besides, aid should be extended to the women in getting cars through various corporations at subsidised loans. Ms. Valluru directed officials to take steps to enrol the women with corporate companies to drive the employees in the cars.
The collector held a review meeting on the works of the district unit of the Rural Development department on Tuesday (March 11, 2025) where the setting up of comment brick making units, petrol pump, drones for women and other initiatives to empower women were discussed.
She said that more women were interested to learn driving. Janga Reddy Kota, additional district rural development officer (Addl DRDO) said that the 33 women already hold learner licence.
Officials were directed to provide 50 women, who underwent training in making bricks, with equipment used to make cement bricks and connect them with the Housing Department which is overseeing construction of Indiramma Houses. The latter has earlier wrote to collectors to encourage people to set up the brick making units as demand for the resource will rise in view of construction of a large number of Indiramma Houses.
The Petrol pump, which will be managed by women, has to be set up in the district by March 31. It was already launched in Narayanpet. Allotment of shops in the District Mahila Samakya’s commercial complex has to be completed, the collector said.
