Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reveals Tamil Nadu Ministers' absence at official meetings during his visits.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said Tamil Nadu Ministers for Agriculture and Rural Development had not attended official meetings convened during his visit to the State.
Mr. Chouhan, while replying to a question by M.S. Tharaniventhan, DMK MP from Arani, said he had visited Tamil Nadu twice and convened meetings on agriculture and rural development. However, the Tamil Nadu Ministers for Agriculture and Rural Development had not attended those meetings, he said.
The Union Minister said the Centre sanctioned ₹7,600 crores to Tamil Nadu for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. He said he has a “huge respect for Tamil language and culture and people of Tamil Nadu and is ready to come to Tamil Nadu to discuss issues related to farmers”.
Sharing this video on X, BJP State president K. Annamalai said Mr. Chouhan exposed the DMK government’s “anti-people centric approach” in Parliament. He said, “While the DMK MPs complain in Parliament, the DMK Ministers in the State do not even attend critical meetings convened during our Honourable Minister’s visit to the State.”
