Tamil Nadu is proud to be recognised as one of the best-managed States in terms of law and order, according to Governor R.N. Ravi’s address tabled in the Assembly on Monday (January 6, 2025). The government’s dedication to safety and security has significantly contributed to increased employment opportunities for women, he said.
Though the Governor left the Assembly hall a few minutes after he commenced his customary speech in the first session of this year, Speaker M. Appavu read out the Tamil version of the Governor’s speech prepared by the State government.
“The government’s dedication to safety and security has significantly contributed to increased employment opportunities for women. As a result, notably, 41% of all working women in factories in India are employed in the State. Further, the peace and stability in our State have made it a preferred destination for industrial investments in the country,” the Governor said.
The Tamil Nadu government continued to have a zero-tolerance approach towards drugs and narcotics, he said. “Through frequent raids, special anti-drug drives, awareness campaigns, and enhanced border check-posts, the government has been making all efforts to curb this menace,” the Governor said. It has taken a proactive stance against cybercrimes, employing advanced technology and diligent investigative methods to trace and apprehend criminals, he said.
