According to a press release, as many as 392 incidents of theft were reported during the year. The police solved 255 cases while recovering stolen property and cash valued at ₹1.50 crore.
As many as 34 murder cases were registered in 2024. Of them 17 cases ended in convictions.
The police said 62 persons were detained under the Goondas Act for their involvement in various types of offences, including robbery, peddling ganja, selling banned tobacco products, and bootlegging. About 10,486 persons were arrested in 10,668 cases for smuggling Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), illicit distillation, and the sale of arrack. As many as 230 persons were arrested on the charge of selling ganja and 647 others for selling banned tobacco products.
A total of 6,151 litres of illicit distilled arrack and 1,59,211 bottles of IMFL were seized. As many as 239 vehicles were seized by the police in prohibition-related offences.
