Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar chaired a meeting with representatives of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Tuesday at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat at Velagapudi and reviewed the progress of the establishment of CBG (Compressed Bio Gas) plants in the State and its land allocations.
During the review, the Minister for Energy said that the State government had entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Reliance a couple of months ago to invest ₹65,000 crore for setting up 500 CBG plants in Andhra Pradesh. “This partnership is set to generate 2.5 lakh employment opportunities in our State. This will make our State a frontrunner in clean energy and sustainable development,” he said.

The Minister reiterated to the Reliance team that the State government is fully committed to expediting the development of CBG projects. He emphasised that the government would take all necessary steps to fast-track the process, ensuring that there were no delays or obstacles.
The Minister reviewed to make sure that any administrative, bureaucratic, or procedural hurdles would be swiftly addressed to facilitate smooth project implementation. With this commitment, he said he aims to create a supportive environment for Reliance and other investors, ensuring that the CBG projects are completed on time and contribute to the State’s renewable energy goals.
