Security arrangements in place for Thai Poosam at Sathya Gnana Sabha in Vadalur

Cuddalore District Police ensure tight security for Thai Poosam festival with over 1,500 personnel and 100 CCTV cameras.
The Cuddalore District Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the Thai Poosam festival, commencing on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) at Sathya Gnana Sabha in Vadalur in the district.
Over 1,500 police personnel would be deployed for the festival. The police department control room will operate round the clock, with a network of over 100 CCTV cameras set up throughout the premises to monitor the crowd. In addition to this, 10 watch towers have been established around the complex.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram Range) Disha Mittal and Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar reviewed the security arrangements at the premises on Saturday.
Medical teams, including doctors and ambulances, will be deployed round-the-clock at the premises until the festival draws close. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will also be operating special buses from various parts of the State to Vadalur.
The district police have readied eight temporary parking lots separately for parking of two-wheelers and four-wheelers in Vadalur in connection with the festival.
In view of the festival, the police have also announced changes in the traffic pattern to be enforced on February 11 from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Vehicles from Chennai bound to Chidambaram, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur are restricted from entering Vadalur. Instead they should take the route via Kollukarankuttai, Chathiram and proceed via Kurunjipadi and Bhuvanagiri.
