Sean Ono Lennon Mocks Drake While Accepting Beatles Grammy

“Never get into a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar,” John Lennon's son said while accepting the Best Rock Performance award for “Now and Then.”
Drake probably won’t remember the 2025 Grammys fondly.
Not only did rap rival Kendrick Lamar win five Grammys for his anti-Drake diss track “Not Like Us” ― including both Record of the Year and Song of the Year ― but Drake also got shade from a son of one of the Beatles.
Earlier in the evening, Sean Ono Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, accepted the Grammy for Best Rock Performance on behalf of his father’s band. He used the occasion to offer some sage advice “to the young people out there.”
“Never get into a rap battle with Kendrick Lamar,” Lennon said, referencing Lamar’s long-running beef with Drake that came to a head last spring.
On Friday, Lennon also suggested on social media that “Somebody should check on Drake.”
