Around the Bay is back in person after its 2020 cancellation and last year's virtual race, which happened because of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
This year's race will take place on Sunday. The 30K and 1st Leg of Relays will begin at York Boulevard at Bay Street, while the 5K begins at Bay Street in front of FirstOntario Centre.
Registration is closed but spectators are welcome to watch.
The best places to watch are from the corner of Victoria Avenue and Burlington Street, Burlington Street to Woodward Avenue North, Beach Boulevard, Lasalle Park and Dundurn Castle.
The city says to expect the following road closures:
The road race is the oldest long distance race of its kind in North America.
On Friday, people can stop by Afrolicious to watch the FIFA World Cup Nigeria vs. Ghana qualifier game.
Students can get 15 per cent off their meal and a free pop by presenting a valid student ID.
The event starts at 3:30 p.m. and is located at 46 James St N.
If you plan on staying later into the night, Afrolicious will also be featuring Hamilton DJ Malaz Ismail from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
In an effort to raise money for the Canada-Ukraine Foundation Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, Playhouse Cinema will be screening Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors.
The film, based on the novel by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, tells the story of a young man named Ivan who is in love with his childhood sweetheart Marichka. Although there is a rift between their families, Ivan leaves town and goes on a quest to find a way to earn a suitable dowry to marry Marichka.
The screening is on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and will be introduced by Canadian filmmaker Terrance Odette. Tickets can be bought here.
The Art Gallery of Hamilton isn't just for viewing art. This Saturday at 10 a.m., you can move your body there, too.
