Winter storm to bring up to 30 cm of snow to Windsor-Essex: Environment Canada

Windsor-Essex could see its biggest snowfalls of the year in what Canada's weather agency is calling a "highly impactful" storm.
Environment Canada issued a winter storm warning Saturday morning for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia, as well as the rest of southern Ontario.
Environment Canada forecasts snowfall accumulation from 20 to 30 centimetres, and the agency warns of poor visibility in the heavy and blowing snow.
The snow started to fall Saturday morning, with up to 10 centimetres expected throughout the day, but the heaviest snow is expected Sunday. Ten to 20 more centimetres of snow are "likely."
"Conditions will rapidly deteriorate Sunday morning as a more significant area of snow and blowing snow arrives," the agency said in its warning.
"Freezing rain or ice pellets may mix in with snow at times on Sunday, especially for areas near Lake Erie, which will impact total snowfall accumulations."
Environment Canada warns that travel will be "hazardous," especially on Sunday.
"Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery," the alert stated.
