CBC
All crew members of the MSC Baltic III have been rescued after their vessel ran aground close to the Lark Harbour shoreline off Newfoundland and Labrador's west coast.
Photos posted to social media show the vessel against the rocks, close to the cliffs.
Premier Andrew Furey confirmed this morning that the ship lost power before running aground and that all twenty crew members were safely evacuated.
The Canadian Coast Guard ship CCGS Henry Larson is in the area and search and rescue aircraft, including a cormorant helicopter were part of the rescue effort.
A winter storm warning is currently in effect in the region, with winds up to 120km/h. Ferry crossings from Port aux Basques have been cancelled for the day.
More to come.
