Relaying of roads has been halted at Kasbapuram in Agaramthen

Agaramthen near Selaiyur is a growing residential area with infrastructure issues, residents request funds for road repairs.
Agaramthen, located near Selaiyur, has become a prominent residential locality, thanks to its proximity to the GST Road. A large number of residents have moved from Chitlapakkam and Selaiyur to Kasbapuram at Agaramthen.
The Agaramthen panchayat has failed to provide the locality with good roads, underground drainage, and storm water drains. In several parts of Kasbapuram, the roads are flooded whenever it rains. The rainwater stagnates for days. Panchayat officials started relaying the roads at some places, including Bharatidasan Nagar, but halted the work, citing lack of funds. We request the Chengalpattu district administration to allot funds for completing the project.

A senior official at the Chengalpattu Collectorate says the project has been halted not owing to lack of funds but because of the onset of the northeast monsoon. It will be completed after the monsoon.
The Tambaram Corporation has constructed the underground drainage at Pammal and Anakaputhur. The project was completed at some localities; but the roads have not been relaid. Some streets at Sankar Nagar in Pammal become unmotorable, especially when it rains. On the 41st Street, residents are unable to venture out of their homes.
