Hyderabad Traffic Police warns public against fake messages about discounts on pending traffic e-challans, urges verification of information before sharing.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a clarification regarding the false and misleading information circulated on social media about discounts on pending traffic e-challans. These claims about the discounts, according to the authorities, are entirely fake and intended to mislead the public.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), P. Viswa Prasad, said that the department categorically denied offering any discounts on pending traffic e-challans. He emphasised that such claims are fraudulent and mischievous, urging citizens not to believe or act on this misinformation.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated that all official announcements regarding e-challans and other matters are communicated only through verified platforms. These include the Telangana Police e-challan website, accessible at https://echallan.tspolice.gov.in/publicview/, and the department’s official social media accounts.
The public was advised to remain cautious and avoid sharing or forwarding unverified messages. “Spreading fake information can lead to unnecessary confusion and is considered a punishable offense under the law. Citizens are encouraged to verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it,” he said.
For clarifications or queries regarding pending traffic e-challans, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has provided dedicated helpline numbers (040-27852772 and 040-27852721). Citizens can also visit the official e-challan website for accurate information.
