Bengaluru court postpones Ranya Rao's bail hearing in gold smuggling case to Monday after DRI objects.
The Civil and Session Court in Bengaluru on Saturday posted the hearing of Actor Ranya Rao’s bail plea to Monday in the case pertaining to gold smuggling.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, while objecting to the bail, sought time to make its submission. Considering the plea, the court posted the hearing to Monday.
Ranya is lodged in the central prison of Parappana Agrahara after the Special Court for Economic Offences rejected her bail applicationy.
Ranya was arrested by the DRI after she was caught with 14.2 kg of gold bars worth ₹12.5 crore on her arrival from Dubai at the Kempegowda International Airport on March 3.
