Ramesh Jarkiholi and most of the other leaders who are reportedly discontent with the BJP State leadership will participate in an anti-Waqf rally in Belagavi on Sunday.
Leaders like Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Aravind Limbavali, Pratap Simha, G.M. Siddeshwar, Kumar Bangarappa, N.R. Santosh and others will participate in the rally, Ramesh Jarkiholi, former Minister and BJP MLA, told reporters in Belagavi on Friday.
The rally will start from Sardar School grounds in Belagavi. Protesters will walk through the main streets and end at the Deputy Commissioner’s office where a memorandum will be submitted. Party workers will come from various taluks and neighbouring districts, Mr. Jarkiholi said.
In response to a query, he reiterated his stand that he did not accept the leadership of B.Y. Vijayendra, BJP State unit president and would not bother about appeals by him and other leaders not to organise a protest rally against the waqf issue, that was different from that authorised by the State president.
Local party leaders like Murughendragouda Patil, Kiran Jadhav and others were present at the press conference.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
