Quebec City's first baby of the year 2025 was born at exactly midnight on Wednesday, announced the CHU de Québec-Université Laval.

The baby was born at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université Laval (CHUL) at 00:00 on Jan. 1, the CHU de Québec said in a press release.
The baby boy, named Giovani-Munga, weighed 4,170 grams.
"The CHU would like to extend its warmest congratulations to the new parents and wish them every happiness," the press release said.
The boy's parents have decided not to give interviews to the media in order to preserve their privacy.
