Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar welcomed the announcement issued by the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, regarding working to find common solutions to overcome outstanding differences, and conducting technical negotiations between the two parties, in a significant step that paves the way for a comprehensive and final solution to the conflict between the two neighboring countries.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced the State of Qatar's hope that the two countries will engage in technical negotiations and that they will culminate in reaching a result that contributes to opening a new page of constructive cooperation between the two countries, in a way that serves the aspirations of the two peoples toward stability and prosperity and enhances peace, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa region.

In this regard, the Ministry also voiced the State of Qatar's appreciation for the efforts of the Republic of Turkiye and its important role in facilitating the achievement of this consensus between the two countries.
