Stockholm, Sweden: Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met Secretary-General of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) H E Andreas Stefansson.
Cooperation relations and the latest developments in Afghanistan were discussed at the meeting in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Qatar to Sweden H E Nadya bint Ahmad Al Sheebi.
The Minister of State also met yesterday in Stockholm with State Secretary for International Development Cooperation of Sweden H E Diana Janse. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation and relations between the two countries, especially in the development field. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.
The Minister of State for International Cooperation reiterated Qatar’s welcome of the recognition of the State of Palestine by Norway, Ireland, and Spain, considering it an important step to support the two-state solution and achieve peace and stability in the region.
She noted that Sweden was the first to recognise the State of Palestine since 2014.
