Qatar recently recorded Covid-19 cases with strains from South Africa: Official

Doha: Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Chairman of the National Pandemic Preparedness Committee, said at the press conference held today that cases were recorded recently with strains coming from South Africa. 

He said that Qatar is witnessing a new wave of Coronavirus and seven people died due to the virus this week.  The new strain does not cause different symptoms, but it is more likely to spread among individuals, and some evidence indicates that the new strain may cause severe disease, he added.
