Mundagakanni Amman Koil MRTS Station Road is choc-a-block with traffic during rush hour because of incomplete SWD
Greater Chennai Corporation’s Integrated Stormwater Drain Project took time to reach Mundagakanniamman Koil Street. By the look of it, this work would likely take even greater time to exit the street.
In a state of partial completion, the work sticks out during rains, wearing a muddy look. The wet earth makes it difficult for residents to even step on to the road. The road has been blocked and made out of bounds for motorists. For residents (as also others accustomed to navigating the stretch on wheels) the new route towards RK Mutt Road involves hitting Mundagakanni Amman Koil MRTS Station Road, and then entering Balakrishna Road.
Due to this arrangement, Mundagakanni Amman Koil MRTS Station Road is choc-a-block with traffic during rush hour.
Residents of Mundagakanniamman Koil Street and other habitues of the area want the SWD work to be expedited so that they are spared the hassle of traffic gridlocks, particularly during the morning school hours.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
