NDPP says it would consult BJP before taking NPF on board
The opposition Naga People’s Front (NPF) has accepted Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s offer to join his People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government. The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) that Mr. Rio represents, on Tuesday adopted a resolution to first consult ruling partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before bringing the NPF on board. The 60-member Nagaland Assembly currently has 59 members after the death of an MLA. The PDA has 34 legislators (20 are from NDPP, 12 from BJP and two Independents) while the NPF has 25.More Related News
