AIADMK and AMMK vow to defeat DMK government and uphold Jayalalithaa's legacy on her death anniversary.
On the death anniversary of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Thursday, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his partymen paid tributes at her memorial and vowed to defeat the DMK government.
They also took a pledge to “send the DMK home” and raised slogans against what they called a “false Dravidian model of governance”. They also vowed to “expose” the DMK government to the people.
Criticising the various steps taken by the DMK government, which they alleged affected the people, the AIADMK partymen further vowed to bring their party back to power. They paid floral tributes at Jayalalithaa’s memorial on the Marina. They also paid tributes at the memorial of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran.
In another event, AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran paid tributes to Jayalalithaa. The AMMK partymen took pledge to follow in her footsteps.
The movement that was nurtured by Jayalalithaa was now in the hands of a few whose selfishness and self-interest was “digressing the movement from its ideals”, the partymen observed. They further vowed to retrieve the ideals and principles of the late leaders through the democratic tool of the AMMK party.
