Cessna aircraft crash-lands at Begumpet Airport due to nose wheel malfunction, trainee pilot unharmed, airport operations normal.
A Cessna 152 aircraft belonging to the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy made an emergency landing at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad on Thursday (February 6, 2025) afternoon after its nose wheel jammed during landing. The aircraft, registered as VT-RGH, was piloted by a trainee pilot who had taken off from the airport approximately 30 minutes before the incident.
According to a source at Begumpet Airport, the aircraft was on a routine training flight when the nose wheel malfunctioned, causing the plane to make a nose-heavy landing. “It was a regular training flight, and during landing, the nose wheel jammed, leading to a hard landing. All debris has been cleared from the runway, and operations are back to normal,” the source said.
A representative from the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy confirmed that the trainee pilot did not sustain any major injuries. However, the aircraft suffered damage due to the impact.
Despite the mishap, airport officials have assured that flight operations at Begumpet Airport remain unaffected.
