Norman Lloyd, ‘St. Elsewhere’ and ‘Dead Poets Society’ actor, dead at 106

After an illustrious career in beloved films and shows such as “Dead Poets Society” and “St. Elsewhere,” Norman Lloyd has died. He was 106.
A family friend confirmed his passing to Deadline. He reportedly died in his sleep at his Los Angeles home. Born in New Jersey, Lloyd got his start acting in New York in the 1930s, the Wrap reported. One of his first big roles was Cinna the Poet in an acclaimed 1937 adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” when he was a charter member of Orson Welles and John Houseman’s Mercury Theatre. Lloyd was originally cast in Welles’ infamous “Citizen Kane,” Deadline reported, but quit the project due to budget problems.More Related News
