
New DG of BrahMos takes charge

Jaiteerth R. Joshi takes charge as Director General of BrahMos. He was earlier recognized for significant contributions in missile systems and research.
Jaiteerth R. Joshi, ‘Outstanding Scientist’ of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, DRDL, Hyderabad, assumed charge as the Director General, BrahMos, on Sunday (December 1, 2024). He has made significant contributions in the design, development and induction of tactical missile systems and as programme director spearheaded research and development for the joint development of Long Range Surface to Air Missile (LRSAM) and successfully commissioned the same.
For his distinguished contributions, he has been conferred with many honours, including Scientist of the Year Award, Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Award by Institution of Engineers, Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) by National Institute of Technology, Warangal.
He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy Engineering, Royal Aeronautical Society, London, Indian Institute of Metals, Institution of Engineers India, Indian Society for Non-destructive Testing, Indian Society for Mechanical Engineers, Indian Institution of Production Engineers, and Telangana Academy of Sciences, said a press release.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
