
New bus stand in Karur to be ready in four months, says Minister

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating various development works here, he said that the construction was progressing well. It had reached an advanced stage. It would be completed within three to four months. Instructions had been given to the officials to expedite the work.
Mr. Senthilbalaji said that the Department of Municipal Administration had allocated ₹92 crore to carry out a number of drinking water projects in Karur. An announcement to that effect was made in the current budget session of the State Assembly. Steps were on to start the construction work as early as possible. With the implementation of additional drinking water schemes, it was expected that the total installed capacity of various drinking water schemes would go up to 43 MLD from 34 MLD.
Precautionary steps had been in place to ensure adequate supply of drinking water to the residents of Karur and other villages in the district during the peak summer season. There would be no scarcity of drinking water.
