Telangana government appoints IAS officer N. Sridhar as principal secretary to Education department after Burra Venkatesham vacated the post
Telangana government on Wednesday (December 4, 2024) issued orders giving N. Sridhar Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the post of principal secretary to the Education department. The post fell vacant after the previous in-charge of the post, Burra Venkatesham, was appointed chairperson of Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC).
The Education Department is one of the portfolios that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy holds. The department came under criticism in the past few weeks because of a series of food poisoning incidents at State run education institutions. A few steps were taken including constituting Task Force committee on food safety in the institutions.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
