“K-DIZ will connect various stakeholders and serve as an ecosystem provider, where start-ups & innovators (both defence and aerospace entrepreneurs) from Kerala can access information, develop connections, explore market opportunities and collaborate with the armed forces,” Mr. Ambika said.
Mr. Nair opined K-DIZ will be integral to the Centre of Excellence (CoE) focusing on defence and aerospace proposed under the Emerging Technology Hub of KSUM at Technopark Phase IV (Technocity) in the capital city.
Air Commodore Mathew John spoke about how the armed forces have been moving towards integration and modernisation to become a future-ready force with capabilities that match India’s growing global stature. Brigadier Salil M.P. termed the armed forces as “incubators” of technology by utilising advancements for a gamut of operations including surveillance, navigation, operations training, and operational logistics. K-DIZ will offer a platform to leverage the interface between armed forces, industries and academia, he said.
