MoI plans awareness drive to reduce motorcycle accidents

With a sharp increase in motorcycle related road accidents in the country, the Ministry of Interior is set to form a committee to prepare a list of all the motorcyclists and delivery companies to initiate awareness programmes for them.

Colonel Mohamed Radi Al Hajri, Director of the Awareness and Information Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, has revealed that a committee is being formed to create a list of all motorbikes and delivery companies after the increase in motorcycle linked road accidents. He also said that department is working on awareness programmes targeting motorcyclists. “We dealt with official bodies in this regard including Qatar Post because they have many motorcyclists and we had awareness cooperation for Qatar Post riders,” he said.
