The man accused of killing Misha Pavelick at a high school graduation party in 2006 when he was 17 will be back in a Regina courtroom on Monday.
The man accused of killing Misha Pavelick at a high school graduation party in 2006 when he was 17 will be back in a Regina courtroom on Monday.
The man, now 34, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in June.
Pavelick was stabbed and killed while attending the party which was near Last Mountain Lake during the May long weekend in 2006, about 50 kilometres northwest of Regina.
The suspect, who will be in youth court cannot be named because he was 17 at the time of the incident.
Pavelick’s homicide remained under investigation for 17 years, including a podcast released by RCMP in 2021 titled ‘Who Killed Misha Pavelick?’ in hopes that more leads into the investigation would be generated.
Despite the arrest, RCMP said they hope to uncover more details about what happened the night of May 21, 2006.
Pavelick’s accused killer did not remain in custody following his arrest in June, RCMP said.
