Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister distributes land titles to tribal families, inaugurates road works, and promises development initiatives in Medarametla village.
In a significant move to support tribal communities, Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar distributed land ownership titles to 374 tribal families at Medarametla village in Addanki Assembly Constituency in Bapatla district on Friday. These families had been living without legal land rights for the past 20 years.
As part of the event, the Minister also inaugurated newly constructed CC roads worth ₹40 lakh and laid the foundation stone for additional road works costing another ₹40 lakh. He also initiated the construction of an ST Community Hall, funded through CSR contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasised the coalition government’s commitment to fulfilling election promises. He highlighted that in just seven months, they had undertaken significant development works, contrasting this with what he called five years of mismanagement under the previous YSRCP government. He assured that full electrification of the ST colony was under way, with 180 new electric poles already installed.
The Minister also announced plans to install 30 CCTV cameras in Medarametla to enhance village security. He blamed the previous government for the damage to the Gundlakamma project gates and accused it of allowing illegal sand mining. To restore fisheries-based livelihoods, he stated that six lakh fish seedlings would be released into the reservoir.
He said an ‘Anna Canteen’ had been set up in Addanki town.
Officials from Revenue and Electricity Departments, along with local leaders, attended the event.
