WENderland Midnight Market in Kochi promotes night safety for women and children with art, music, and entertainment.
WENderland Midnight Market, an initiative of Women Entrepreneur Network (WEN), Kochi Chapter, was inaugurated here on Saturday (April 5) by Hibi Eden, MP.
The market is open between 4 p.m. and midnight on April 5 and 6 at Rajendra Maidan. This is part of efforts to create awareness about safety at night, especially for women and children, said the organisers.
The Ernakulam district administration and the police are supporting WENderland Market. Women Entrepreneur Network (WEN), Kochi Chapter, has also presence in Kozhikode, Kottayam, Thrissur, and Thiruvananthapuram. There are more than 1,000 members in the network.
The event will also underline that Kochi is a lively city at night and provides fun and entertainment with art installations and live music performances. The visitors can join the celebrations, including a silent disco that will highlight the spirit of keeping nights quiet as there are restrictions on use of loudspeakers, according to the organisers.
