Telangana CM plans statue of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on Necklace Road in Hyderabad
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that a huge statue of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule would be installed on the Necklace Road for his services to women’s education and giving access to education to the poor and downtrodden sections.
The Chief Minister inspected the site for the installation of the statue at the Necklace Road on Friday (April 11, 2025) and instructed the officials to conduct a survey at the site and submit a report with a complete plan. The officials were asked to prepare plans so that the statue would not create traffic issues and lead to other problems.
Mr. Reddy was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLAs, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) mayor Vijayalakshmi, former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, and Backward Classes (BC) leader Jajula Srinivas Goud among others.
Earlier, the Chief Minister paid tributes to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s statue at Amberpet on the occasion of the popular social reformer’s birth anniversary. Mr. Mahesh Goud, CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, former MPs Vh Hanumanta Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav, the GHMC mayor and Amberpet Constituency Congress in-charge Rohin Reddy also paid tributes.
