BJP legislature party leader and former Minister (AIADMK) Nainar Nagenthran is likely to be appointed the president of the Tamil Nadu BJP.
BJP legislature party leader and former Minister (AIADMK) Nainar Nagenthran is set to be appointed the president of the Tamil Nadu BJP.
According to party sources, Mr. Nagenthran was the only person to file nominations for the post of the party’s State president.
His elevation gains significance as the BJP is on the verge of forging an alliance with the AIADMK. Mr. Nagenthran, who was earlier with the AIADMK, joined the BJP in 2017.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh announced in Kamalalayam, the party’s State headquarters, that: “We have received nominations for the post of State president from Nainar Nagenthran, proposed by K. Annamalai, L. Murugan, Pon. Radhakrishnan, H. Raja, Vanathi Srinivasan, V.P. Duraisamy, Kanagasabapathy, Pon. V. Balaganapathy, K..P. Ramalingam....”
