Four missing women from Telangana found after stampede at Maha Kumbh Mela, bringing relief to families.
The four women from Telangana who had gone missing during the stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh have been successfully located, bringing much relief to their families.
The women, Anugula Buchavva, 65, from Kalleda village; Bellapu Sathavva, 55, from Bellal village, both in Kaddam Mandal, Nirmal District; Veerla Narsavva, 55, from Vidyanagar Colony; and Adhi Rajavva, 55, from Kothawada Colony, both in Jagtial District, were part of a 11-member group who travelled to attend the religious gathering in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. .
According to Jagtial district SP Ashok Kumar, the women got separated from their group during a stampede at a bathing ghat amid the massive crowds. They were found on the night of January 31. A constable from Jagtial police, who is also their relative, went and brought them back. The women had been missing since the stampede on January 29.
“At the time of separation, they were not carrying any mobile numbers or contact details, making it difficult for them to reach out to their group members. After extensive search efforts, police teams coordinating with Uttar Pradesh authorities managed to locate them,” explained the SP.
